The Man Who Cried, Christina Ricci, ...

'SLEEPY''S FOLLOW Ricci and Depp play WWII-era lovers in the Sally Potter-director indie ''The Man Who Cried''

Being able to look sad will certainly come in handy for Ricci, who's starring opposite Michelle Williams (''Dawson Creek'') in ''Prozac Nation,'' an adaptation of Elizabeth Wurtzel's best-selling memoir of depressed youth. But offscreen, the actress is positively pleased to be adding a new skill to her resume: producer. ''When I was 10 years old I met Scott Rudin and decided I wanted to be a producer when I grew up,'' Ricci says. ''I saw the producer as being the problem solver. And getting to develop material and package things is a little bit of a power high.''

So in addition to starring in MGM/UA's dark comedy ''Pumpkin'' (due out in the fall), she's producing an action/sci-fi romp called ''Adrenaline,'' currently in development at Joel Silver's company. ''I love big budget films, and I like special effects, so I'm really excited about the movie we have in development,'' says Ricci. ''I can't wait to get paid a buttload of money.''
