LOVE LOOTED Courtney Love's stay in Vancouver has certainly been trying. First she suffered a miscarriage on the set of ''24 Hours,'' the movie she's been shooting there with Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon. Then she was sued by a homeowner who claimed she'd backed out on a deal to lease his house for two months; she allegedly stopped payment on her checks and left the house after one day to check into a hotel. But she probably wishes that she hadn't, since she now says more than $100,000 in jewels has been stolen from her hotel suite. Among the missing items are the wedding ring Kurt Cobain gave her, a $30,000 ring Edward Norton gave her (''at a time when he had only $40,000 to his name,'' her manager said), and diamond bracelets given to her by ex-boyfriend/ manager Jim Barber. Police are investigating.
RIVER DANCE He's not a doctor, but he's played a couple on TV. Mike Farrell (''Providence'') recently led a daylong bus tour of politicians through towns along the Mississippi River in Louisiana, where he says petrochemical plants have created a ''cancer alley'' of poor residents victimized by poisoned water. ''I find it irresponsible that industries are doing this to their neighbors without them willing to take responsibility for their actions,'' he said. ''I find it horrendous that politicians are willing to turn their backs.'' Maybe he should have brought Julia Roberts along.
TERROR-YAKI Godzilla has been eating Japanese people for five decades, so turnabout is fair play. Tokyo toymaker Tahara is marketing Godzilla Meat, a 3.5 ounce can of corned beef adorned with pictures of the radioactive monster. ''People can eat Godzilla and become energetic and powerful. It's got dreams mixed in with fun,'' a Takara spokeswoman told the Associated Press. ''It's like Popeye and his can of spinach.'' Plus, you don't need to microwave it; it nukes itself.
Also coming from Tahara, the company that brought you Transformers robots, are such monster themed foodstuffs as Godzilla Eggs (canned quail eggs), Rodan Meat (canned barbecued chicken), and King Ghidora Meat (actually, the same canned corned beef as the Godzilla Meat). The delicacies hit Japanese shelves in October, but there are no plans to export them to the States. Too bad, because Phil Bronstein (Sharon Stone's husband) would probably like to bite into some lizard as payback for having his toe nearly chewed off by a Komodo dragon at the Los Angeles Zoo last weekend.
'CENTER' CUT Director Wayne Wang chose to release his erotic drama ''The Center of the World'' unrated rather than submit it to the MPAA ratings board, where it would have received either a commercially deadly NC-17 rating or would have required cutting to receive an R. But the Cincinnati theater showing the film cut out five seconds of ''an obscene act'' anyway. ''I found this act to be both degrading to women and most likely violative of community standards,'' said Gary Goldman, who runs the Theater Management Corporation, parent company of the Esquire Theater. ''Obviously, I exercised bad judgment and should have chosen instead not to play the film.'' He cited sensitivity to community standards, since Cincinnati is the city that arrested Larry Flynt over Hustler in the 1970s and museum director Dennis Barrie over a Robert Mapplethorpe exhibit in 1990. Artisan Entertainment has decided to yank the film from the theater rather than show an edited version.
RICE AND EASY His fellow ''Survivor'' contestants may not have been fond of his rice dishes, but chef Keith Famie is giving a Rice 101 cooking demonstration on behalf of the USA Rice Federation on June 21 in Chicago. ''He's taken so many cheap shots from everybody, this seemed like a perfect platform for him to redeem himself,'' said federation spokeswoman Kim Park. ''We had to do this for him and us.'' Famie is also hosting the ''Taste the Adventure'' block of round the world cooking specials on the Food Network all next week. Maybe they should call his spots ''15 Minutes of Famie.''
CASTING CALL Now that Tiffani Thiessen and Denise Richards have both turned town the chance to replace Shannen Doherty on ''Charmed,'' producers are in talks with Rose McGowan to try her hand at witchcraft. She'd play a long lost sibling that Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs never knew they had. She certainly has experience with horror, having starred in ''Scream'' and been affiancéed to Marilyn Manson....
Erik Estrada sleeps with the fishes. TV's favorite motorcycle cop will have a starring role on ''Sealab 2021,'' a slight update of the old Saturday morning Hanna-Barbera cartoon series ''Sealab 2020.'' The series is part of Cartoon Network's new Adult Swim block of programs, airing after 10 p.m. ET Sundays and Thursdays, aimed at viewers old enough to remember who Erik Estrada is. ''Adult Swim'' will also feature new episodes of ''Home Movies'' and ''Space Ghost: Coast to Coast,'' along with such new series as alien family sitcom ''Leave It to Brak''; ''Harvey Birdman,'' a courtroom drama that puts 'toons on trial; and ''Aqua Teen Hunger Force,'' about a team of food products who solve crimes....
Hong Kong buttkicker Jet Li has come up with another way to put his costars in stitches. He's signed a $10 million deal with Miramax to coproduce and star in an action comedy based on his own idea about a Tibetan monk who wins a trip to New York and cleans up a rough neighborhood. Scripting will be Robert Mark Kamen, who also wrote Li's ''Kiss of the Dragon,'' which opens next month....
Guess Jamie-Lynn Sigler will have to put off writing her memoir for a while. The ''Sopranos'' actress will spend August in a less lethal family drama, starring in ''The Playroom'' for siblings Julia, Gretchen, and Stephen Dyer. They're the indie director, writer, and producer, respectively, who also made the middle aged lesbian romance ''Late Bloomers.''
FAMILY MATTERS She said yes on ''The Tonight Show,'' but former ''Law & Order'' prosecutor Angie Harmon said ''I do'' in a private ceremony in her hometown church in Dallas. She married New York Giants cornerback Jason Sehorn -- who popped the question in a romantic spot near Jay Leno's desk last year -- at Highland Park Presbyterian Church on Saturday. Guests included Giants coach Jim Fassel and Harmon's cop costars Jesse L. Martin and S. Epatha Merkerson....

Pierce Brosnan is set to marry longtime fiancée Keely Shaye Smith on August 4 at a Roman Catholic church in County Mayo, Ireland, followed by a reception at Ashford Castle. Brosnan twice postponed the wedding last year after his son Sean was injured in a car accident....
