The story line is tried, true, and utterly predictable: Take an impassive looking Stiles, integrate dance sequences with dumb clichés, inject emotional turmoil and a love story, wrap it all up with street banter and screw you deadpan delivery, and voilàa! You have a hit. Stiles is completely affecting and natural as a contemporary archetype in a modern day take on ''West Side Story.'' MTV Films' teen steamer also shows some genuine maturity in its depiction of interracial relationships: Unlike some recent black boy meets white girl flicks (''Finding Forrester,'' anyone?), Save the Last Dance has the guts to go all the way.
