One thing that's noticeably different about the 20 castaways on Survivor's 13th edition: They're a heckuva lot more diverse. The show's producers have clearly decided to address complaints that previous seasons were overwhelmingly dominated by Caucasian players, but the ethnic variety of the cast members on Survivor: Cook Islands comes with a twist: Players are being initially divided into teams by race white, black, Asian, and Hispanic. That controversial decision aside, the new cast is diverse in other ways: There's a roller-derby queen, a heavy-metal guitarist, a pro volleyball player, and even a makeup artist for The View. In fact, the only way these folks appear to be homogeneous is their state of origin; 13 of the 20 hail from California. Read on to get our take on who's going to have an edge when the games begin on Sept. 14.
