Concept Prodigal son Jake Green (Skeet Ulrich) returns home to Jericho, Kan. just in time for the dawn of a nuclear holocaust.
The Scoop Ulrich and Gerald McRaney (Deadwood) are the estranged father and son who try to keep order while they figure out what the hell is going on in the outside world. If you want answers, Ulrich swears even he doesn't have them: ''It's better if you're in it blind it's that much less I have to hide from you guys.''
Bottom Line A compelling pilot, with some really disturbing images. The trick will be not alienating a terrorist-antsy audience. And exec producer Jon Turteltaub knows this. ''The show is not Road Warrior,'' he says. ''It's an odd mixture of 24 and Little House on the Prairie. To which you go, 'What? That's the worst thing I've ever heard!' But it's not.'' No, it's not. In fact, so far we actually like it.
