The Great New Wonderful zeroes in on New Yorkers who were emotionally lost long before the Twin Towers fell. With its esteemed cast and recurring visual motifs, director Danny Leiner's follow-up to Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle aims for highbrow, not High Times. But the dialogue offers as much insight as H&K's pot-fueled patter. EXTRAS In a commentary, Leiner and writer Sam Catlin rave about every last performer (likening Maggie Gyllenhaal to Gena Rowlands). Deleted scenes are typical filler, except for a sermon-like alternate opening.
