The jagged guitars and jacked-up beats of 2003's Echoes created plenty of hype for NYC foursome The Rapture. They've kept quiet since, but their follow-up Pieces of the People We Love (co-produced by Gnarls Barkley's Danger Mouse) shows they're far from exhausting their supply of bass-heavy grooves. In fact, the Rapture are in higher spirits than ever, with yowls of pleasure replacing claustrophobic moans. And thankfully, their cowbell is still in working order. It's good to hear these hip-shaking hipsters cutting loose with such abandon.
