TWO 'WEIRD' The claim that Stewart was in a band with DioGuardi before starting Eurythmics is only Make Believe

Make Believe purports to be a lost album by Dave Stewart's pre-Eurythmics band Platinum Weird. In fact, the act never existed. Make Believe is actually a recent collaboration between Stewart and singer Kara DioGuardi, who has penned songs for Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson. As a marketing ploy, the faux backstory is interesting-ish. Less so is the music. DioGuardi has a strong voice and the production is nicely retro. But the bulk of the material alternates between sounding like fair-to-mediocre Fleetwood Mac and lame Kate Bush.
