Mark Linkous — otherwise known as Sparklehorse — has always shuffled between upbeat pop and lo-fi sleepers with abandon. It's more of the marvelous same on Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain, which mixes soaring tracks like the Beatlesque ''Don't Take My Sunshine Away'' with such moody pieces as the instrumental title track. Linkous' cracked, occasionally Gollum-like vocal delivery provides the comforting anchor to this simply dreamy album.
