The head of rare books at the Library of Congress is found murdered, a crime apparently linked to a plot to sell classified government secrets. Soon, ex-CIA assassin Oliver Stone and his ragtag political watchdog organization, the Camel Club introduced in David Baldacci's '05 best-seller of the same name begin to investigate. Meanwhile, con artist Annabelle Conroy, on the run after scamming an Atlantic City casino owner, becomes an unlikely partner to the club's sleuths. Baldacci's story lines are all too familiar (The Da Vinci Code meets Ocean's Eleven) and the twists somewhat expected, but you'll still be rooting for his likable underdog protagonists in The Collectors.
