Ah, growing pains. The characters and the series had 'em in season 3, which struggled to balance Marissa's (Barton) bizarre-but-blessed demise with college prep, pot smoking, and loads of superjuicy Julie Cooper one-liners (''I have a Hot Pocket in the microwave and a wine cooler with my name on it''). But the plots were kind of lame; here's to the launch of an improved new season on Nov. 2.
