When Your Heart Stops Beating (2006)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Release Date: Nov 14, 2006; Lead Performance: (+44); Genre: Rock

A penchant for numerical names is not the only thing bassist-singer Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker have carried over from their previous band, blink-182. (+44)'s When Your Heart Stops Beating is downbeat but still catchy, and tracks like ''baby come on'' or the New Order-ish ''155'' could easily have featured on blink's bleakly impressive last CD. Those wishing to hear the pair's thoughts on the breakup of that trio — and, in particular, the breakdown of relations with third blink-er Tom DeLonge — should lend an ear to ''no, it isn't'' (sample lyric: ''This isn't just goodbye/This is 'I can't stand you''').
