2006's Lassie, a gorgeous-looking, unsentimental retelling of the valiant collie's bravery, features a delicate performance by sweet-faced Jonathan Mason as the quiet British lad who loves Lassie and loses her. As Lassie makes her way back from Scotland to Yorkshire, she encounters Peter Dinklage as a canny carny and Peter O'Toole as a grumpy but kindhearted grandee.

EXTRAS
No commentary, but in a featurette, director Charles Sturridge and the film's young costars are charmingly frank about the challenges of working with animals.
