+ Rebecca Romijn will join the cast of ABC's Ugly Betty starting in
mid-January, but not in the role you'd expect. ''I'm playing the
mysterious masked woman,'' Romijn reports, referring to the vixen
plotting with Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) to take over Modemagazine. ''And I can't reveal anything else, but there's going to be a
humdinger.'' Okay. But certainly Romijn wasn't cast to remain covered up,
right? ''I will now be unmasked,'' she says. And...? ''Wow, I wish I could
tell you, but I'm committed to secrecy.'' Mrph. Let's hope Betty has more
luck getting to the bottom of this!

+ Producer Brian Grazer assures us he is ''absolutely going to make'' a long-delayed, still-unnamed flick pairing Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock as blue-collar workers who plan to rip off their employer. So what's the, er, holdup? ''Brett Ratner will direct it,'' says Grazer, ''and he's
currently making Rush Hour 3.'' All together now: Raaaatnerrr!
