Rebels

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: RBD; Genre: Pop

As the stars of an internationally popular telenovela, RBD's youthful members have had no trouble finding millions of eager buyers for their three studio albums of flirty teen pop en español. The Mexican sextet's English-language debut, Rebels, aims to capitalize on their steadily rising U.S. sales with translations of their past hits and new tunes penned by industry vets like Diane Warren. The songs that result are disappointingly generic, but global twists — a thumping reggaeton drum machine, a lick of merengue guitar — periodically enliven their arrangements.
