In ''American Pie 2,'' Jason Biggs mistakes Super Glue for lubricant and adheres his hand to himself. Would paint thinner help in such a sticky situation, as suggested in the film?
Hand it to ''AP2.'' Thinner would probably work, says Douglas A. Rund, ER chief at Ohio State University Medical Center. But there's a better way: nail-polish remover. (Near the eyes, he suggests an oil-based ointment like Neosporin.) The makers of Super Glue-like sealant Loctite say soap and water would do. Dr. Rund, who's never treated a patient with Biggs' condition, adds that technique is crucial: ''Go slow and be gentle.''
