Voulez-Vous MTV?

EW.com gives you the inside scoop on Britney, J. Lo, 'N Sync, Alicia Keys, and more

At the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, Fatboy Slim nabbed six Moon Men for his video ''Weapon of Choice,'' while the sexy quartet of ''Lady Marmalade'' (Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, and Pink) won the Best Video of the Year, as well as Best Video from a Film (''Moulin Rouge''). Not to be outdone, the cute cads of 'N Sync followed with three awards for their video ''Pop,'' winning Best Group, Best Dance Video, and of course, Best Pop Video.

But enough facts! What you need to know is what people wore and what they told EW.com backstage and on the red carpet.

SNAKE CHARMING
Mark Wahlberg (''Rock Star'') told EW.com, ''Really, I'm here -- and rooting -- for the girl who takes off the most clothes.'' Onstage, that would have to be Britney Spears, who dressed as a harem escapee during her performance of her new song, ''Slave 4 U.'' Britney's friend/costume, a python, wore its own snakeskin.
