Jennifer Lopez In Concert (NBC, Tuesday, Nov. 20, 8 p.m.)

J. Lo has a few years on Britney, but when it comes to concerts, it's Lopez who was (until recently) a virgin. Lopez's first full-length live performances, in Puerto Rico on Sept. 20 and 21, will serve as the basis for her concert special. ''She had the chutzpah to go and have it recorded,'' says Jeff Pollack, Lopez's comanager and the show's executive producer. ''She showed no sense of nervousness -- she seems like somebody who has done this 500 times before to sellout audiences. Part of the magic is that this was the first time -- it elevates it.''

With pyrotechnics, multiple costume changes, and other frills, the shows -- including just about all of Lopez's hits, such as ''Love Don't Cost a Thing'' and ''I'm Real'' -- were designed as if they were part of a major tour. Production values aside, Lopez's and the audience's fresh memories of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks added an unplanned dimension to the performance, according to Pollack. ''This was a momentary diversion that I think was incredibly appreciated,'' he says. ''There was a sense of warmth and emotion that was felt by the performer and the people who were performed to.''
