Wu-Tang Iron Flag (2001)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Release Date: Dec 18, 2001; Lead Performance: Wu-Tang Clan; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Like the urban warriors they portray, Staten Island's Clan won't stay down long. They return full force from last year's lackluster ''The W'' with Wu-Tang Iron Flag, their darkest, most hypnotic disc since 1997's ''Wu-Tang Forever.'' RZA wisely updates the pioneering Wu sound, grounding his trademark space grime with choice R&B and jazz samples, while Method Man and Raekwon lead a reinvigorated stable of MCs into attack.
