Not like anyone who's going to flip to NBC during the Feb. 3 Super Bowl halftime wants to see Playmates eating. (NBC will air the first 20 minutes of ''Fear Factor'' during halftime and air the remaining hour after the game). Though Kunitz won't give up exactly what challenges faced the Playmates, he did confess that there is a water stunt in which -- what a shocker -- the contestants have to strip down to their bathing suits! ''Believe me, these weren't planned just for the Playmtes. It takes months to prepare these stunts,'' Kunitz says. ''Fortunately for our audience, one stunt that was ready involved bathing suits.'' (Still, one stunt that took place in a smoke-filled structure was nixed because, as Kunitz says, ''it occurred to us it would be kind of silly to have the Playmates all covered up in fire gear.'')
And how did these contestants compare to the others? ''They were all surprisingly competent at the first stunt, but the final stunt was so difficult,'' says Kunitz. ''You'll definitely see some Playmates freak out to the point of refusing to do a stunt, and there's certainly cattiness, especially since they all know each other.'' Catty Bunnies in bathing suits? Well, don't get too excited. ''It's still NBC so it's not going to be overtly sexual,'' insists Kunitz. ''It's still the same crazy irreverent show. It just happens to have six sexy women in it.''
