STEAL MAGNOLIAS Hayek and Cruz rob banks in the name of social justice in Bandidas
Credits
B-
In Bandidas, Penélope Cruz is a simple farm girl. Salma Hayek is a snooty aristocrat. But both are proud 19th-century Mexicans, and when an evil gringo (Dwight Yoakam) starts murderin' locals, stealin' their land, and takin' over their banks, the hotties team up to defend their country by robbing those same banks. Think Robin Hood meets Thelma & Louise south of the border. Only sillier.
EXTRAS The stars' commentary is more entertaining than the film. When Cruz gets long-winded, Hayek lovingly teases: ''Penélope, you're not writing a book!'' B-
