Hearing costar Isaiah Washington call him a ''faggot'' on the set of Grey's Anatomy gave T.R. Knight (pictured) the courage to come out publicly, Knight says in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, set to air today on her talk show. At the Golden Globes on Monday night, during an interview in the press room after Grey's won Best Drama TV Series, Washington publicly denied ever using the homophobic slur by saying, ''No, I did not call T.R. a faggot.'' Costar Katherine Heigl responded by telling Access Hollywood that she is ''not OK with'' Washington's comments and calling them ''hurtful.''

Knight tells DeGeneres something changed inside of him when he heard Washington use the slur during an argument with costar Patrick Dempsey, and says he really doesn't know what to say about Washington's denial at the Globes.
