The buying at Sundance may have been slow through the weekend, but things definitely picked up on Tuesday as three major feature acquisitions were announced. In what is reportedly one of the biggest sales in the history of Sundance, according to Hollywood Reporter, Focus Features grabbed world rights to the high-school satire Hamlet 2 for an estimated $10 million. If the reports are accurate, that sale would rival Little Miss Sunshine, Hustle and Flow, and Happy, Texas in terms of value. The film stars Seve Coogan as a drama teacher who attempts to salvage his high-school's theater department by staging a controversial sequel to Shakespeare's play.

Also on Tuesday, Fox Searchlight acquired rights to Choke, according to Variety, in a deal valued at $5 million. The movie, an adaptation of the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club, stars Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston and was directed by Clark Gregg. Variety also reports that Overture Films doled out an estimated $3.5 million for U.S. rights to Henry Poole is Here, directed by Mark Pellington and starring Luke Wilson and Radha Mitchell.
