Carly Simon's last CD was a misguided foray into standards, some beyond her belting range. On Into White, she has to keep it down: It was ostensibly conceived as a lullabies album ostensibly, because ''Scarborough Fair'' isn't obvious toddler fare. But this richly personal disc aims at putting kids to sleep while simultaneously setting parents to rumination. Few boomers won't get choked up hearing her cover ''You Can Close Your Eyes,'' by ex-husband James Taylor, with their son, JT sound-alike Ben Taylor.
