+ Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding) will helm the Johnny Depp drama Shantaram. Says Graham King (The Departed), who'll produce with Depp: ''Johnny's playing a criminal who goes to India after getting out of jail, and he falls back into his old ways there.''
TELEVISION
+ We always knew Tim Gunn was too cool for school. Project Runway's
style coach will resign as fashion design department chair at Parsons
The New School for Design to become chief creative officer of Liz
Claiborne Inc. But fear not: Gunn's busy schedule including his own
upcoming Bravo series Tim Gunn's Guide to Style and related book (due in
May) won't affect his role on Runway, which will still film at Parsons. Contracts for regulars Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors are
set, and Gunn's is nearing completion. ''Do I have even one iota of a
doubt that I'll be back for season 4?'' he asks. ''No. Not one iota.''
