Thank God this movie's on DVD, because when it ends you're going to want — and need — to watch it again. Directed by Batman Begins and Memento's Christopher Nolan, The Prestige confidently steals some of the latter's time-shifting complexity and turns it into a tale of science and magic in Victorian-era England, as two dueling magicians (Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale) play a revenge-fueled game of one-upmanship, culminating in an amazingly dark conclusion. EXTRAS Disappointing: only a series of short featurettes in lieu of a Nolan commentary track. A-
