Seventy-nine-year-old country legend Charlie Louvin (of the Louvin Brothers) is the latest codger to surround himself with hip younger musicians in a bid for a sunset-years career revival. It's easy to be cynical about such efforts, but reservations melt away when you hear Louvin's lovely, utterly unpretentious readings of these dozen bluegrass standards, blues, and selections from his own songbook. Elvis Costello, Will Oldham, and others provide admirable support, but Louvin's sweet warble commands center stage.
