Ex-cartoonist/Almodóvar acolyte Àlex de la Iglesia smoothly orchestrates The Perfect Crime, raucous black comedy about an ambitious salesman (Toledo) who
accidently offs a rival. Toledo attractively boomerangs from macho to
vulnerable; Cervera (20 Centimeters), as an ''ugly'' colleague who makes
his life miserable, spars with screwball spunk. Snappy, but not as sharp
as it thinks it is.
EXTRAS De la Iglesia and co-writer Jorge Guerricaechevarría ruminate on Kubrick
and Buñuel (an obvious influence) in their wry commentary.
