This sword-and-sorcery fantasy adapted from the Christopher Paolini novel finds the farm boy Eragon (Speleers) guarding the last living dragon (voiced by Weisz). They fly, they fight, they overthrow a despot (Malkovich). The aerial CGI scenes soar, but like dragons, Eragon is filled with hot air.
EXTRAS Everything but a doc on craft services: more than a dozen making-ofs. Director Stefen Fangmeier sheepishly comments on why a baby dragon must be cute and cuddly: ''I don't want people to squeak and run.'' C
