''You are God's secretary!'' exults Ludwig van Beethoven (Harris) to the
female composer (Kruger) copying out the parts for the Ninth Symphony.
Maybe God should have sent to the temp agency for somebody else: The
actress who played Helen in Troy is woefully out of her league in Copying Beethoven as the
great man's (fictional) muse. Harris, sadly, isn't much better. Good
music, bad history, wretched dialogue this is Classics Illustrated
claptrap.
EXTRAS Deleted scenes that further reveal Kruger's limitations (although her
line ''To hell with the shrubbery!'' is a keeper). C-
