Recipient of a critical firestorm upon release, Death of a President a faux documentary
that uses found footage, staged scenes, and F/X to dramatize George W.
Bush's assassination is infinitely more interesting in concept than
execution. After the shooting scenes, which induce a gut-wrenching
feeling no matter what your politics, the film becomes a run-of-the-mill
thriller that forgoes any exploration of larger consequences.
EXTRAS Repetitive commentaries (director Gabriel Range is on both); paltry
filmmaker interviews. C
