Never mind Twin Peaks' reputation as a champion shark-jumper: The maligned second season of David Lynch's audacious serial is stunningly smart, mesmerizing, and brutal. Yes, one character's soul is trapped in a dresser knob. But there's also the revelation of Laura Palmer's killer and a starkly brilliant cliff-hanger that may forever stand as an ending.
EXTRAS Though the cast and crew interviews don't include Lynch, his voice comes through loud and clear in 22 episode intros (starring the Log Lady!). A-
