Having relocated to London in 2004, Kevin Spacey is officially fluent in Brit-speak. ''There's always a fear that you're going to go pear-shaped and forget,'' says the actor, 47, of his concern that something could go wrong on stage. The fear is present for the Oscar winner (American Beauty, The Usual Suspects) as he preps for the April 9 Broadway opening of A Moon for the Misbegotten. It's his third outing as a Eugene O'Neill antihero and his first New York gig since being named artistic director of London's Old Vic theater. Here, the expat talks about life on and off the stage.

''His characters are so complex and full of flaws and faults and
contradictions, and yet you never feel like he's judging them,'' says
Spacey, who has also starred in The Iceman Cometh and Long Day's Journey
Into Night.
He's found contentment on both sides of the pond
''London is so vibrant and fun, there's always something to do,'' says the
museum junkie. Still, ''I am sort of in full-blown love being back in
[New York City]. It's all smiles.''
He's probably the first Oscar-winning actor-cum-artistic director to
star with that guy from Wedding Crashers
Spacey plays a North Pole efficiency expert in Fred Claus, an upcoming
Vince Vaughn Christmas comedy which — conveniently — shot in London. ''It was relatively easy for me.''
Still, running the once-revered Old Vic is Spacey's top priority
''It's important to me that it become a destination theater, and not just
because people associate it with me.'' He adds, laughing, ''I can't take
all the good parts.''
