Though not a composer, Quentin Tarantino makes soundtracks that are as distinctive as the spaghetti Western scores of Ennio Morricone. QT devotees will be unsurprised to learn that the music from his half of GrindhouseQuentin Tarantino' Death Proof — includes funk (Pacific Gas & Electric's slinky ''Staggolee''), surf guitar, soul, classic rock (T. Rex's ''Jeepster''), and snippets from other soundtracks (''Paranoia Prima,'' by Morricone himself). The end product is another testament to the quality — and volume — of Tarantino's record collection.
