This sweet tale of a pregnant pie-maker (Keri Russell) who has a fling with her hunky doctor (Nathan Fillion) while plotting an escape from her no-good husband (Jeremy Sisto) received a whole lotta love at Sundance last January. And given that Adrienne Shelly, who also costars, was killed in New York City before it debuted and never got to enjoy the accolades, that happy ending is ''something to be celebrated,'' says Russell. ''It's what Adrienne wanted for the film.''
BACKSTORY Considered by many to be the original Indie It Girl, Adrienne Shelly was found dead in her Manhattan office last November. A construction worker with whom she had argued has been charged with her murder. The filmmaker-actress first gained attention for her collaborations with Hal Hartley on movies like 1990's The Unbelievable Truth.
