THE ROLE In this '80s-set romantic comedy, Sandler is Robbie Hart, a soft-hearted suburbanite whose fiancée stands him up at the altar; luckily, his true love, a waitress (Drew Barrymore) who works the same reception circuit his band plays, is right under his nose.

WHAT EW SAID Owen Gleiberman: ''As a romantic comedy, the picture is pleasant, predictable, and utterly weightless. Yet it has the good fortune to be one of the first of what will probably turn into a deluge of glibly packaged '80s-nostalgia flicks.''
