Good Luck Chuck (2007)

Unlike his last movie, this one fully captures Dane Cook's stand-up persona — or so he tells us. (Repudiating Employee of the Month isn't exactly a risky call.) The stand-up comic plays a dentist saddled with an unusual curse: Women marry the man they sleep with after they sleep with him. While the ladies line up to bed Chuck for ''good luck,'' he aims to keep a clumsy penguin specialist (Jessica Alba) for himself. ''It's a hard R,'' Cook says of the sex scenes that led him to seek out a trainer. ''My ass should have its own credit.'' (Sept 21)
