With an eye-popping list of international collaborators (Joel & Ethan Coen, Wes Craven, Alfonso Cuarón, Alexander Payne, Gus Van Sant, and others), it's no surprise that this short film collection was a logistical Rubik's Cube that took five years to solve. Even after shooting wrapped in 2005, producer Claudie Ossard (Amélie) found herself struggling with 83 different sequences of the movie's 18 segments, each of which presents a director's take on a different Parisian neighborhood. ''It's not theory; it's feeling,'' says Ossard of the process. ''When you will see the movie, you understand what I mean.'' (May 4)
