For a show set during a long arid drought in 1930s Texas, 110 in the Shade gives off surprisingly little heat. Four-time Tony winner Audra McDonald is effervescent as Lizzie Curry, a spinster torn between a repressed sheriff (Christopher Innvar) and a rain-promising con artist (Steve Kazee). But the leading men can't match her fiery performance, and the musical doesn't explain why Lizzie would fall for either shlub. McDonald is the main draw here, and her musical transformation from dowdy old maid to red-hot lover in ''Is It Really Me?'' is a powerhouse extreme makeover. B-
