Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff in ''Spring Awakening''

Spring Awakening, the rock musical based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind about teenagers discovering their sexuality, leads all Tony nominees this year with 11 nods, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. Tom Stoppard's play Coast of Utopia followed with 10 nominations, including Best Play and Best Featured Actor nods for both Billy Crudup and Ethan Hawke.

Disney's Mary Poppins edged out LoveMusik and commercial favorite Legally Blonde for the fourth Best Musical nomination, but Blonde's Laura Bell Bundy beat out Poppins' Ashley Brown for a spot among the Leading Actress in a Musical nominations.

The 2006-2007 Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday (May 15) morning by Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski (Nine) and former Rent star Taye Diggs at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. The 61 Annual Tony Awards will take place June 10 at Radio City Music Hall.
