B+
Blake Shelton always delivers at least one instant classic per album. on Pure BS, it's a new song that nails how post-romantic indifference feels like the ultimate insult; meeting his ex's new guy, Shelton can ''tell the way he shook my hand, he never heard of me before/Not only she don't love me, she don't hate me anymore.'' Ouch. Elsewhere, Shelton covers a Chris Knight tune where he describes how he ''had to work to be the jerk I've come to be/It ain't easy bein' me.'' But his effortlessly confident delivery sure makes being a loser sound easy.
