These sardonic yet bighearted U.K. art-punk survivors embody a bundle of complementary contrasts, mixing leftist outrage with absurdist comedy. So it makes sense that this compilation — encompassing mutant honky-tonk, weepy folk balladry, twisted synth-pop, and even a Rod Stewart cover — offers a fine overview of their wayward brilliance. B+
