It's a Bit Complicated, the title of Art Brut's second CD, is presumably a joke, given their penchant for uncomplex lyrics. Case in point: 2005's ''Formed a Band,'' during which frontman Eddie Argos repeatedly proclaims, ''We formed a band!'' At no point on Complicated does Argos get that obvious, though matters remain direct, if droll, throughout. Meanwhile, on the likes of ''Pump Up the Volume,'' the Brit quintet keep the joke from wearing thin by making their idiosyncratic yet entertaining guitar-based pop seem like simplicity itself.
