+ ''It's about redemption,'' says Luke Wilson, of his upcoming role as the
title character in Henry Poole Is Here. The dramedy begins when a man is
told he's close to death, but then gets a new lease on life with the
help of his female neighbors. (Among them: Babel's Adriana Barraza, who
plays a spiritual woman.) This project is particularly close to director
Mark Pellington's heart: He was inspired to make an uplifting film about
mortality after his wife's sudden passing in 2004. ''It's
bittersweet-funny,'' Pellington says, ''more American Beauty than About
Schmidt.''
+ Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming up to direct a trilogy of photo-realistic animated films based on The Adventures of Tintin, Belgian artist Hergé's classic kids' comics about an eccentric reporter and his dog Snowy, who will risk life and limb to get a good story. Spielberg and Jackson will helm one movie each, while the last film's director is still being determined. Additional reporting by Carrie Bell
