BIRTHS
On May 11, singer Sheryl Crow, 45, announced that she has adopted a
2-week-old American boy, Wyatt Steven.... Jaime Pressly (My Name Is
Earl), 29, and her DJ fiancé, Eric Cubiche, 32, welcomed their first
kid, son Dezi James, on May 11.
SUSPENDED
XM satellite radio announced May 15 that it's suspending Gregg ''Opie''
Hughes and Anthony Cumia, hosts of The Opie & Anthony Show, for 30 days.
This move comes a week after the duo aired graphic sexual remarks about
Condoleezza Rice and Laura Bush. Hughes and Cumia did not return calls
for comment.
COURTS
Photographer Giovanni Arnold, 22, sued Lindsay Lohan, 20, for an
undisclosed sum on May 10 in NYC. He claims that in March he was struck
by a car she was driving. No court date has been set.... On May 15, an
L.A. jury awarded Crusader Entertainment $5 million in its suit against
author Clive Cussler, 76. In 2004, the production company sued
Cussler who penned the novel on which the 2005 movie Sahara was
based claiming he inflated the number of books he'd sold. Meanwhile, the
jury also found that Crusader could potentially owe Cussler $8.5 million
for book rights. That decision is still pending.... Sylvester Stallone,
60, pleaded guilty on May 14 to bringing 48 vials of restricted
muscle-building hormones into Australia during a February visit. ''I was
simply ignorant of official rules,'' Stallone has said in a statement. He
is expected to be sentenced on May 21.... Radio deejay Sandy Domingo
(neé Yuleika De Castro) filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against 30
Rock's Tracy Morgan, 38, on May 11. Domingo claims the actor, who
smelled of alcohol, touched her shoulders and arms and kissed her head
following an appearance at the Miramar, Fla., station where she works.
(Morgan, on probation for a 2005 DUI, is scheduled to be fitted with an
alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet on May 25.) His lawyer did not return
calls for comment.

Former televangelist Jerry Falwell, 73, who famously battled Hustlerfounder Larry Flynt in the '80s, of apparent heart failure, May 15, in
Lynchburg, Va.... Character actor Nicholas Worth (Swamp Thing), 69,
reportedly of heart failure, May 7, in Van Nuys, Calif.... Screenwriter
Bernard Gordon (Battle of the Bulge), 88, blacklisted in Hollywood
during the McCarthy era, of bone cancer, May 11, in L.A.... Jimmy Hall,
41, a shark expert who's appeared on the Today show, after a parachute

Tony Award Nominations
Spring Awakening, a rock musical about teenage sexuality, nabbed a
leading 11 Tony nominations on May 15, while Grey Gardens and Tom
Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia earned 10 nods apiece. '' [Gardens] has
been an unbelievable labor of love,'' says nominee Christine Ebersole. ''To have your hard work be acknowledged is so thrilling.'' The
61st Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast June 10 on CBS. Lindsay Soll
No Butts About It
Rated R for violence, nudity, and...puffing? On May 10, the Motion
Picture Association of America announced that lighting up on screen
(like Scarlett Johansson in The Black Dahlia) will now play a
major role in a film's rating. (Before, the MPAA only considered
underage smoking when setting ratings.) Movies will be docked for
''glamorized'' or ''pervasive'' smoking, though historical context will be
taken into account. (This likely won't appease antismoking groups, who
want an automatic R rating for onscreen puffing.) MPAA spokesman Seth
Oster says the new rules are designed simply to ''increase the amount of
