Hannibal Rising (2007)

Planet Prequel is a dismal place where the unfortunate visitor can gawk at such monuments to Tinseltown's greed — and lack of imagination — as Dumb and Dumberer and Butch and Sundance: The Early Days. This fright-free Hannibal Lecter genesis story (Hannibal Rising) — set decades prior to the events portrayed in Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs — is no better than its ''pre-'' predecessors, despite a suitably lean and hungry performance from Gaspard Ulliel as the young Mr. Cannibal. EXTRAS include two making-of docs and some unmemorable deleted scenes.
