...got my heart broken
In college I got abruptly dumped by my high school boyfriend [turns out he was sleeping with his roommate Mark but I didn't learn that 'til months later] and my hours of sobbing and pitifully mewling "Whhhhyyyy?" were punctuated by (gulp) ''I Will Always Love You'' by Whitney Houston. (I wore out the cassette single on that one best $2.99 I ever spent.) Not to knock Dolly Parton I prefer her version now, but Whitney was there for me when I needed her. H.
Whitney Houston's version of ''I Will Always Love You'' was everywhere in the Fall of 1992. I saw my then-fiancé off to Japan. It ended shortly thereafter. It ending turned out to be a blessing in disguise, but I really cannot hear that song without being ill. That may or may not be because I associate it with that girl. Ron Mexico
