THE BIG CHILL (1983)
Costner, who was cast as a man whose suicide causes his old college friends to reunite for the funeral, was famously cut from co-writer/director Lawrence Kasdan's seminal thirtysomething dramedy.
There was a 30-day rehearsal for that movie three weeks in L.A., and then one week in Buford, South Carolina. I learned a lot on that movie, from Lawrence Kasdan and that whole ensemble of actors. My scene was shot the very first week, and then I was gone. But I was able to be with all of them, and interact with all of them professionally.
