on Live With Regis and Kelly she gripes that she doesn't ''know where
that hand's been'' O'Donnell calls Ripa's reaction ''homophobic.'' (Aiken
does not publicly discuss his sexuality.) An angry Ripa phones in to The
View to defend herself, claiming mere germophobia.

It's controlled chaos as a Limoncello-lubricated Danny DeVito flounders
his way through an interview, but O'Donnell manages to restore order by
pulling the diminutive actor onto her lap (''Sit with mommy'') and urging
him to read ''We'll be right back'' from the cue cards.

Rosie goes toe-to-comb-over with Donald Trump, mocking the blustery
billionaire and calling him a ''snake-oil salesman.'' A tiresome,
months-long press battle ensues.

Upset that contestant Antonella Barba was able to stay on American Idolafter a risqué photo scandal, O'Donnell calls the Fox show ''racist'' and
''weightist,'' citing heavyset African-American contestant Frenchie Davis'
2003 photo-related ouster. The Idol producers fire back, saying
O'Donnell spoke ''without thought or knowledge.''

In what will become her final day on the show, O'Donnell and Hasselbeck
have an uncomfortably heated argument over, among other things, whether
Rosie called U.S. troops ''terrorists.'' At the climax of the six-minute
brawl, the women are shown via split screen. In a May 26 video on her
website, O'Donnell says, ''When I saw the split screen, that's when I
knew it was over.''
