Battling Julian McMahon's dastardly Victor von Doom, Jessica Alba and Michael Chiklis valiantly attempt to bring heart and gravitas (respectively) to this fluffy franchise. But gratuitous displays of brawn can't beef up Fantastic Four's puny plot. EXTRAS Featuring 20 more (dull) minutes, this FF: Extended Edition DVD arrives less than two years after its predecessor and conveniently coincides with the June 15 sequel. Despite some pleasant filmmaker commentary and hearty docs (like one about FF comic co-creator Jack Kirby), there's nothing special about this edition. C-
